Nick-named ‘Trevor’ after a pupil of the school, Ruthin School’s new boarding house provides exceptional en-suite boarding accommodation and social spaces for 40 students and the House Master’s family. Set overlooking the stunning Clwydian Range and green fields, this is sure to become a ‘home from home’.
Trevor boarding house is to meet and exceed current building regulations guidelines. The project is being developed to be as sustainable as possible.
As well as 40 en-suite, bedrooms ‘Trevor’ is to contain social rooms which will include cooking facilities, relaxing spaces and TV rooms.
Attached to the boarding house is to be a 4 bed private residence for the house master to live, and allows rooms for guests to be housed. This house is to have direct access to the boarding house via a link on the ground floor.
The design creates a enclosed private courtyard for the students, enabling sheltered and private outdoor space. The attached House master house is to have a private garden to the east of the dwelling.
The entrance is to the North facing the school which creates a walkways within the school to the sports hall and future development areas to the North. The entrance is not directly seen from the A494 Mold Road for safety reasons. Entrance to the House Parent dwelling is via a driveway directly South of the boarding house, this entrance is to have gate access.
