Brock Carmichael and Merseytravel have a long history of working together to improve the travel infrastructure of Liverpool, with Brock Carmichael working with them to improve their bus, rail, and ferry terminals. The most recognisable of these projects is the Queen Square Bus Station and the associated Merseytravel Bus Stops that can be seen across the network.

Queen Square Bus Station embodies Merseytravel’s raised standards for bus travel and has acted as a catalyst for the regeneration of the Queen Square area of Liverpool.

The design of the highly serviced bus shelters has been developed specifically for this project with structural glass walls and roofs. In combination with high levels of lighting and 24-hour CCTV coverage, the shelters

embody the principle of ‘see and be seen’ to enhance passenger safety and convenience.

The central passenger facilities building is designed to be an iconic focus providing a ‘one stop shop’ ticket and information centre for visitors to Liverpool. Facilities include a Passenger Facilities Building, ‘One-stop-shop’ ticket and information centre, tourist information centre, twelve bus bays, purpose designed shelters and tactile guidance paving.

Following the success of Queen Square Bus Station, Brock Carmichael were approached to regenerate the Huyton Bus Station.
