Puffin’ Rooms

Situated in the basement of The Albany, a previous Brock Carmichael project, on Old Hall Street, Liverpool, Turmeaus Cigar Lounge and Shop, the Puffin’ Rooms, offers a wide range of whiskies and some of the world’s best cigars paired with late night entertainment and cuisine.

Brock Carmichael was asked to redesign the space available to maximise the facilities on offer for its discerning visitors. This was a very challenging project due to the space restrictions and the large spatial requirements of the brief. The challenges included designing and fitting bespoke high volume filtration system to remove the cigar smoke and fitting in a functional kitchen area to provide light bites along with the drinks. The sampling lounge has an impressive (and very quiet) smoke filtration system with 30 air changes an hour creating a pleasant internal environment for the patrons.

The new facilities have a humidor to house the cigars, a pipe and pipe tobacco area, a whisky room and whisky lounge, two cigar sampling lounges, and a smokers’ accessories room. The first phase included a retail cigar shop, whisky shop, and cigar sampling lounge.
