Shacklady Road

This project saw a new housing development in Kirkby consisting of 43 new homes, with a mix of family housing, 8 one-bedroom apartments and 6 two-bedroom bungalows.

Brock Carmichael worked with Plus Dane and Knowsley Borough Council on the development of 43 new homes, bringing an unused urban brownfield site back into use. Then working with main contractors Galliford Try, to complete the scheme in 2020.

The project provides new high-quality homes with frontages that give a stronger sense of community, urban cohesion, and a better sense of place, with improved connections to Northwood Forrest Hills and its fishing lake.

The detailing references existing local housing, but interprets this in a contemporary manner, with simple detail and a palette of high-quality materials leading to a complementary but strong sense of individual character to the new homes.
