Ania Folejewska

Architect

Ania joined Brock Carmichael in October 2022, having relocated from Manchester and previously London, where she worked for practices such as Morris + Company and Turner.Works.

Over the last few years, she has developed expertise in working with existing buildings – the projects she worked on include retrofit and refurbishment of Grade II listed Rylands Building in Manchester, extensive renovation of 17th century manor house in Cheshire and high-end extension to a Georgian town house in Westminster, London.

She was also involved in a number of urban regeneration projects, having worked on such schemes as Hackney Bridge, completed in 2020 and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, completed in 2018.

Ania was born in northern Poland in the early 1990s, days after communism ended. The social and urban transformation that she observed as a child was the beginning of her fascination with architecture. Growing up in an identikit, prefabricated concrete housing block between a post-Soviet factory and a glossy McDonalds, she saw how her city was cut-and-pasted with western elements. Although this new, exotic layer was far from beautiful, she enjoyed the energy it carried and developed a desire to transform the environments and surroundings in her professional life.
