Jonathan Farrell  Architect

Jonathan grew up in the Liverpool City Region, graduating from Liverpool John Moores University in 2015. His experience is primarily within the residential sector; privately and commercially, from bespoke new build residencies to larger commercial developments. Jonathan has also worked on designs for bars, restaurants, listed buildings and within conservation areas. His previous work for a small practice offered him insight in to a vast array of projects of varying scale and very different demands.

He passed his final, part 3 exams in October 2018 and is fully registered as an architect with the Architects Registration Board (ARB).

Favourite Building in Liverpool:

Tobacco Warehouse, Stanley Dock. A. G. Lyster

I’ve always admired the scale of the building, and its position towering over Stanley dock. Additionally, for me it embodies the history and legacy of the city, a place I know and love.

Favourite Building in the world:

Therme Vals, Switzerland. Peter Zumthor

I visited Vals in 2014 and I was aware that this was no ordinary building. It re-wrote the rulebook on what a thermal baths should be. Enlisting sight, sound, smell, taste and touch, it is architecture for the senses, a masterpiece, and a very impressive building indeed.

Projects I’m currently working on:

  • A development on the South Coast
  • A town centre redevelopment in the Liverpool City Region
